CHICOPEE, Ma. — Elms College freshman forward Amy Kasala (Dalton, MA) dropped in a collegiate career-best 31 points and 16 rebounds and junior forward Danielle Dugre (Holyoke, MA) added 20 points and 13 rebounds to pace the Blazers to a 75-63 win over Mount Ida College in Wednesday night’s North Atlantic Conference (NAC) women’s basketball game at the Maguire Center.

The Blazers extended their season-high winning streak to five games to improve to 9-11 overall, 8-6 NAC. Mount Ida College lost its second straight game to fall to 12-10 overall, 9-6 NAC.

Although Elms College shot 55.2-percent from the field in the opening half, it was hurt by 18 turnovers before the break and held a slim 39-33 lead at intermission.

Mount Ida received a team-high 25 points from sophomore guard Kristin Santos (Tiverton, RI), while sophomore guard Bobbi Jo Taft (Starksboro, VT) had 14 points and sophomore forward Adrienne Xenos (Brockton, MA) added a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 16 rebounds for the Mustangs.

Elms College will look to extend its winning streak to six games when it hosts Wheelock College on Saturday, February 12. Game time is 1:00 p.m. at the Maguire Center.
