The Blazers won for the sixth time in their last eight games to improve to 14-8 overall, 8-2 NAC. That win also secured a quarterfinal home game in the upcoming NAC Tournament. Mount Ida lost its second consecutive game to fall to 8-13 overall, 5-6 NAC.
Seyboth connected for 19 first half points for the Blazers, who shot a sizzling 59.5-percent from the field to build a commanding 53-36 lead at intermission.
The Blazers also took advantage of hot shooting from 3-point range after connecting on 14 of 27 shots (51.9-percent) from behind the arc.
Sophomore guard Justin Davis (Dix Hills, NY) connected on 4 of 7 shooting from 3-point range and finished with 14 points in just 17 minutes of action. Junior forward Lonnie Branyon III (West Haven, CT) scored 13 points, sophomore guard John Ancrum (Harlem, NY) dropped in 12 points and dished out a collegiate career-high 16 assists, and freshman forward Nathan Hawes (New Hope, MN) added 10 points to all reach double figures for the Blazers in Wednesday’s win.
Freshman guard Pat Escabi (Derry, NH) scored a team-high 21 points on 9 of 18 shooting and sophomore forward Curtis Gadles (Pembroke, MA) added 14 points for the Mustangs, who were outrebounded 45-32 in the loss.
Elms College returns to NAC action on Saturday, February 12 at Becker College. Game time is 1:00 p.m.
