St. John Fisher 82, Alfred 64Pittsford,NY: — St. John Fisher College improved to 21-0 on the year with an 82-64 win over visiting Alfred University on Tuesday. With the win, Fisher, currently ranked No. 5 in the d3hoops.com national poll, moves to 10-0 in the Empire 8 Conference and has earned a spot in the Empire 8 Conference Championship Tournament. It is the 14th straight year Fisher will advance to the postseason.
Five players scored double-figures for Fisher. Sean O'Brien finished with 13 points, while Jeff Sidney and Nick Bennett each scored 12. Sidney also led Fisher with seven assists, while Bennett snagged eight boards. Pete Gillett came off the bench to score 11 points, while Mike McGee chipped in with 10.
