The Storm, who trailed 33-27 at halftime, used its depth to wear down the Spartans. Simpson, which uses up to 12 players a night, compared to seven for Dubuque, was able to get the ball inside to Hansen and her backup, Sarah Pearson. Pearson tallied 16 as the Storm went to the free throw line 25 more times.
The Storm were 26-36 from the chartiy stripe, compared to 10-11 for Dubuque. Hansen was 9-9 from the free throw line.
Simpson guard Kristi Prostine added 12 points as the Storm forced 23 Spartan turnovers.
