Buffalo State opened the game on a 5-0 run and stayed a step ahead of Brockport for the rest of the half, taking a 36-32 lead into the intermission. The Golden Eagles outscored the Bengals 24-11 to open the second half and led by as many as nine. Buffalo State battled back and reclaimed the lead temporarily at 66-65 with 6:03 to play, but Brockport reclaimed the lead and held on down the stretch. Brockport outscored the Bengals 12-2 on the fast break and 20-14 off turnovers.
Dan Bellucci led Brockport with 22 points on 7-of-11 shooting. David Andrews added 17 points and seven rebounds. Boswell finished with 12 points including the four clutch free throws down the stretch.
Gregg Jones led the Bengals with 26 points. Freshman Dion Mozelle had 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists. Jay Wingate and Justin Konst added 11 and 10 points respectively.
Buffalo State will visit Cortland on Friday at 8 p.m.
