MacMurray 107, Principia 97JACKSONVILLE, Ill. — MacMurray College needed a win today to stay alive in the SLIAC hunt for post-season play. They defeated the Principia Panthers 107-97 and will take on Webster at home on Wednesday. The Panthers did not go down easily as Fendon hit 25, Gilman 21, James Aimonetti 19, Tegtmeyer 14 and Neale 11 as all of the starters hit double figures. They also out rebounded MacMurray 43-32 but in the end it was a Highlander win. The Highlanders shot 49% from the field, 44 % from long range and 69% from the free throw line as they picked up the win. McIntosh scored 21 and hit 7-7 from the charity stripe. Michels has been flirting with having a big game and knocked down 5 treys and 17 points. Huff was 4-7 from long range as he scored 16 and Eberhart as well as Downham scored 11. The Highlanders took care of the ball with only 13 turnovers, but an equally impressive number was the 24 assists. Compton led the way with 5, Downham 4 and Long 4. MacMurray played 15 players and they all put points on the board. It was a solid team win on the road.
