Both teams struggled from the field, with Elmhurst shooting 230 percent for the game and Millikin at 34.4. In the first half, Millikin shot 23.3 percent to Elmhurst's 30.3. Millikin responded in the second half to shooting 45.2 percent from the floor (14-31). Elmhurst carried a 20-19 halftime lead after starting the game with a 6-0 run.
For Elmhurst, Aja Terrier scored 14 points and Vicky Miner had 11 rebounds. Candice Sutton added nine points and twos teals. Erin Neiheisel and Miner also had two steals for the Bluejays.
For Millikin, Lindsey Koehn had 15 points, Karin Olson added 14 and Laura Zimmerman notched 10 for the Big Blue. Joanna Conner and Olson shared a team-high eight rebounds. Three players were credited with blocks in the game, including five for Conner. Point guard Audrey Minott had nine assists and three steals.
Elmhurst shot 7.1 percent from 3-point and 85.7 percent from the free throw line. Millikin shot 18.2 percent from 3-point and 50 percent from the free throw line.
Millikin is looking to avenge its lone CCIW loss on Tuesday when it hosts Wheaton.
