Maryville (Tenn.) 102, Thomas More 65

MARYVILLE, TN — Junior R.K. Thurman (Portsmouth, OH/Portsmouth) notched his seventh double-double of the season, scoring 27 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. It was Thurman's fourth double-double in five games.

However, the Thomas More Saints fell on the road to Maryville, 102-65.

For the second time this season, TMC fell victim to hot shooting from the Scots. Maryville connected on 60 percent of its shots in the first half to open up a 19-point lead.

To the Saints' credit, the continued to fight hard and battle with the Scots, but were ultimately undone by struggles from the free throw line and the inability to make baskets.

For the second consecutive game, Thomas More was able to limit its turnovers.

Sophomore Garry Horton (Louisville/Pleasure Ridge Park) was the only other TMC player in double figures, dropping 18 points and grabbing five rebounds.

Thomas More won't have long to lick its wounds, as the Saints travel to Demorest, GA, Sunday to face Piedmont.
