Eric Stirling and Fred Harrison each scored in double figures in the losing effort. Stirling blocked a game-high five shots, tying the school record.
The Quakers never led in the game, as the Blue Streaks jumped out to a 10-point lead seven minutes into the game, increasing it to as many as 24 at 37-13 with 4:08 to play in the period before the Quakers ended the period on an 11-4 run, closing to within 17 at the break.
The Quakers cut the deficit to 13 five minutes into the second period, but that would be as close as the visitors would come the rest of the way, as a 9-0 run by John Carroll put the margin above 20 points, as the Blue Streaks cruised to the 26-point win.
Stirling scored a game-tying-high 15 points while Harrison added 10. 13 players saw action for the Quakers, with 10 of them finding the scoring column. Stirling pulled down eight rebounds, while Josh Rohrbacher dished out our assists. Stirling tied the school record for blocks in a game, as he swatted five shots on the contest.
John Carroll put four players in double figures, with Brandon Mimes leading the way with 15 points, as John Curran scored 14, Andrew Salata 11 and Chris Day 10.
With the loss, the Quakers fall to 8-13 overall and 4-10 in the OAC while John Carroll improves to 16-3 overall and 10-3 in league action.
The next game for the Quakers is on Wednesday, February 9, as the team travels to Ada, Ohio to take on the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern University with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.
