Elizabethtown 77, Widener 62

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. — In a key Commonwealth Conference home game Saturday, Elizabethtown defeated Widener University 77-62 to improve to 11-9 overall and 5-4 in the conference. Widener dropped to 12-8 overall and 6-4 in the conference with the loss.
Kyle Conrad (Shillington, PA/Governor Mifflin) led Elizabethtown in scoring with 19 points as he shot 8-for-10 from the field and 3-for-3 from three-point range. The only other Blue Jay to score in double figures was Brian Schreiber (Mechanicsburg, PA/East Pennsboro), who came off the bench to score 13 points on 5-for-10 shooting from the field, one three-pointer, and a 2-for-2 performance from the free throw line. He also led Etown in assists with four and pulled down seven rebounds. Dan Keane (Harrisburg, PA/Central Dauphin East) led Etown in rebounds with eight, and he scored eight points by going 4-for-7 from the field.
Matt Sheaffer (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) led Widener in scoring with 15 points. Kris Clarkson (Philadelphia, PA/Overbrook) scored 12 points, led Widener in rebounds with seven and blocked a game-high six of Widener's 10 blocked shots for the day. Casey Stitzel (Quakertown, PA/Lansdale Catholic) tallied 12 points for Widener, and Essien Ford (Baltimore, MD/Loyola Blakefield) and Malcolm Thomas (Baltimore, MD/Pikesville) each scored 10 points for the Pioneers.
Etown will return to action Tuesday, February 8 on the road against conference rival Juniata College at 7:30 p.m.
