Bridgewater State 75, Framingham State 66

BRIDGEWATER, Ma. — The Bridgewater State Men’s Basketball team, behind 21 points from senior Peter Santos (Fairhaven, MA) picked up a key MASCAC victory today, defeating Framingham State 75-66 at the Adrian Tinsley Center.

The Bears improve to 5-3 in the MASCAC, tying them with Framingham and Westfield State for second place in the MASCAC standings.

Santos picked up 19 of his 21 points in the second half as he connected on 5-for-7 shooting from the floor and a perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line in the half. Senior Matt Badiali (Raynham, MA) added 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting, while junior David Rukstalis (Norwood, MA) chipped in with 10.

The Bears as a team shot an impressive 65% from the field in the second half, and also connected on 20 of 25 foul shots (80%) for the game.

The Rams were led by senior Jared Clark (Ipswich, MA), who notched a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Derek Wigman (Pembroke, MA) and senior Chris Feeney (Dorchester, MA) also played well, adding 14 and 10 points respectively.

The MASCAC schedule resumes for both teams on Tuesday night as the Bears travel to North Adams to take on Mass. College, while Framingham entertains Worcester State. Both games are scheduled to start at 7:30.
