Hartford, Conn. — Sophomore forward Robert Taylor III (Dorchester Center, Mass.) totaled game-highs of 21 points and 13 rebounds to lead the Trinity College Bantams to a 94-70 win against the visiting Middlebury College Panthers in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) men’s basketball action this evening at Oosting Gymnasium. Trinity, ranked No. 25 in the nation, improves to 15-4 overall and 5-1 in the NESCAC with its fifth straight win, while the Panthers drop to 6-14 overall and 1-5 in the league.NESCAC Middlebury Panthers

Trinity shot 55.6 percent from the field in the first half, receiving 15 points from senior co-captain guard John Halas (White Plains, N.Y.), to take a 48-37 lead at intermission. The Bantams outrebounded Middlebury, 30-10, in the second half and built their lead to over 20 points in the opening minutes of the second half en route to the easy victory.
Four Bantam players finished in double figures in scoring, as Halas finished with 20 points and five assists, including five three-pointers. Trinity sophomore guard Patrick Hasiuk (Enfield, Conn.) added 18 points, a team-high, eight assists, and seven rebounds, and junior forward Tyler Rhoten (Ridgewood, N.J.) recorded 18 points and six boards.
Senior guard Mike Salek (Fairfield, Conn.) paced Middlebury with 18 points, including 10 in the first four minutes of the game, and senior co-captain guard Simon Behan (Dublin, Ireland) dished out a game-high 11 assists.
