Dana Martin continued to tear-up opposing defenses with a team-high 18 points, including a key three-pointer with 1:11 to play that gave the Thoroughbreds a 68-64 lead. Martin also had five rebounds and a pair of steals.
There were 10 lead changes in the second half, with Skidmore taking the lead for good, 55-54, on a pair of Steve Yaeger free throws with 6:59 to play.
Also for the Thoroughbreds, J.P. Corry finished with 16 points, Michael Murray had 15 points and seven assists, and Fran Murray had 10 points and six assists.
Tsakani Ngobeni led Hamilton with 18 points , while Phil Valenti added 16 points and six rebounds off the bench.
Skidmore (12-6, 6-3 Liberty) has won four straight conference games is in second place behind 6-2 Hobart. The Thoroughbreds host the Statesmen at 4 p.m. Saturday.
Hamilton (10-8, 5-3) is at Union on Saturday.
