Elizabethtown 82, Franklin and Marshall 68

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. — Elizabethtown College junior Dana Voit (Jefferson Hills, PA/Thomas Jefferson) sank six out of nine three-point attempts, tying the Blue Jay record for most threes in a game, en route to scoring a career-best total of 23 points and leading Etown to an 82-68 victory over local rival Franklin & Marshall College Thursday night. Etown improved to 7-10 overall with the non-conference win, while F&M dropped to 8-11 overall.
In addition to leading the Blue Jays in scoring, Voit also led the team in steals with five and tied for the team lead in assists with six. She pulled down six rebounds and shot 6-for-10 from the field and 5-for-6 from the free throw line. She hit three of five three-point attempts in the first half as Etown out-scored F&M 40-30, and she made three of four attempts in the second half. The rest of the team was 0-for-6 from three-point range for the game.
The Blue Jays spread around 23 assists over the course of the game, and the Blue Jays shot 46.8% (29-for-62) from the field and 81.8% (18-for-22) from the free throw line. F&M held a 40-38 advantage in rebounding, and the visiting Diplomats turned the ball over 19 times against 15 Etown turnovers.
First-year student Erin Walton (Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington Co.) scored 20 points, 16 of which came in the second half, from off the bench for Etown. She also pulled down six rebounds and shot 8-for-14 from the field and 4-for-5 from the free throw line. Senior Jen Roberts (Eagleville, PA/Methacton) added 18 points on a 9-for-12 performance from the field for Etown. First-year Amanda Reid (Nazareth, PA/Nazareth Area) was Etown's top rebounder with 11 boards, and she scored eight points and had three steals. Junior point guard Megan Wolfe (Jonestown, PA/Northern Lebanon) made six assists, and junior forward Cristin Braun (Exton, PA/Bishop Shanahan) had five assists for Etown.
Dana Johns (York, PA/Eastern York) led F&M in points with 19, in three-pointers with four, in assists with seven, and in steals with seven. Lauren Dodrill (Timonium, MD/Roland Park) was the Diplomats' top rebounder with 15 boards, and she scored 15 points as well. Emily Weaver (Prince Frederick, MD/Calverton) scored 13 points, pulled down six rebounds, and had three steals for F&M.
Etown will return to action in a Commonwealth Conference home game against Widener University Saturday, February 5 at 2:00 p.m.
