COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — Host Ursinus College rallied from a double-digit second-half deficit to post an 89-80 Centennial Conference men's basketball victory over visiting Washington College this evening in Collegeville, PA. The Bears improved to 11-8 overall and 8-4 in conference play with the win, while the Shoremen fell to 8-11 and 5-7 with the loss.CC Washington College Shoremen

Washington went on 10-1 run over the final 4:49 of the first half to grab a 39-31 lead at halftime. Three of the Shoremen's eight first-half three-pointers came during that run.
The Shoremen extended their lead to as many as 11 points in the second half and led 61-51 with 11:45 to go before the Bears went on a 12-0 run, capped off by a three-pointer from Mike McGarvey with 9:11 on the clock, to pull ahead, 63-61. Washington junior guard Dustin Abbate hit a three-pointer on the next possession to briefly give the lead back to Washington, but Tim Smith made two free throws with 8:04 remaining to put Ursinus in front for good at 65-64.
Washington was still within two points (69-67) with 6:27 to play, but the Bears went a 10-2 spurt to push the lead to 79-69 with 3:12 remaining. Ursinus led by as many as 11 points in the final minutes.
Ursinus shot 68% from the field in the second half en route to 58 second-half points. Leading that charge was McGarvey, who scored all but two of his game-high 24 points in the final 20 minutes. McGarvey also dished out a game-best eight assists and swiped a game-high four steals.
Tim Smith added 19 points and six assists for the Bears, while Will Furey also scored 19 points. Nick Shattuck contributed 10 points and Matt Fabian pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds for Ursinus.
Junior guards Travis Moore and Kyle Stem and senior guard John "China" Alexander each scored a team-high 12 points for the Shoremen. Abbate and sophomore forward Joe Breslin each added 11 points. Alexander led the Shoremen in rebounds with eight, while junior guard Drew Hill matched his career high with a team-best five assists and scored a career-high nine points.
Ursinus shot 55% from the field for the game and held a 39-33 advantage on the boards.
