Milwaukee Engineering 72, Lincoln Christian 62

MILWAUKEE, Wis. — The MSOE Raiders’ men’s basketball team got back to their winning ways by defeating Lincoln Christian, 72-62, in non-conference Division III action Wednesday night at the Kern Center.

Jeff Mikos scored 20 points, six rebounds, five assists and five steals to lead the Raiders. Mikos was recently named the Lake Michigan Conference player of the week.

Raider teammate Scott Murphy added 17 points on 7-of-10 shooting and also grabbed six boards.

Also contributing for MSOE were Tim Shafel with nine points, and Jake Gay and Robert Verdun with eight apiece.

MSOE carried a 35-29 lead into the break and earned a sizable lead for most of the second half.

The Raiders improved to 9-12 on the season while Lincoln Christian fell to 4-15.

MSOE resumes LMC action when they travel to Maranatha Baptist on Saturday (1 p.m.). The Raiders’ next home game is not until Feb. 12 when they host Marian (3:15 p.m.).
