Notre Dame (Ohio) 86, Waynesburg 69

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio — The Waynesburg College men's basketball team shot above 50 percent from the field for a second straight game - both losses. On Tuesday night, the Yellow Jackets dropped an 86-69 decision to Notre Dame (Ohio), a NAIA school. The Falcons posted a +12 rebounding advantage and shot 57 percent from the floor in the win.

Both teams featured four players in double figures, led by 20 from sophomore forward Shawn Coleman.

Coleman, who scored his career-high 22 points in the last game, made 9-of-13 attempts from the field against the Falcons and grabbed a team-high six rebounds. He has scored in double figures nine times this season and leads the team with a .533 (73 of 137) shooting percentage.

Coleman's classmates Marc Lodovico, Jeff Nero and Beau Wilson each reached double figures as well, including 12 from Lodovico.

The Falcons maintained a double-digit lead throughout the final four minutes of the first half until 5:35 left in the game when the Jackets hit a three-pointer to make the score 74-65. Notre Dame then responded with a 12-3 run to finish the game.

Dave Hilborn posted a double-double in the win with 19 points and 10 rebounds, while teammate Paul Benjamin netted 19 points off the bench.

Waynesburg (8-12) returns to PAC play on Saturday, Feb. 5 when it hosts Washington & Jefferson for a 7:30 p.m. tip off. The Yellow Jackets won the first meeting this season against the Presidents, 96-93, in triple overtime after splitting last season's two-game series.
