Coast Guard’s Ryan Ball hit a three-pointer with 4:06 left to give Coast Guard a 69-65 lead before DJ Brinn hit a three-pointer to cut the lead to 69-68 with 2:55 left.
The Cougars took the lead, 71-69 on a three-point play by Dutille with 1:48 left. Cory Szklarz (13 points) scored with 1:15 left to extend the lead to 73-69 and Szklarz added a pair of free throws with 53 seconds left as the Cougars had scored 10 straight for a 75-69 lead.
Coast Guard had built an 11-point first half lead, 28-17 with 6:58 left in the first half before Pat Ochoa led the Cougars back by scoring 11 straight points and the game was tied 38-38 at halftime. Ochoa was five-for-five from the floor including four-of-four from three point range for 14 first half points, he did not take a shot in the second half.
Adam Miller added 11 points for Clark (6-13, 2-6), which beat Coast Guard for the tenth straight time.
Al Sowers led Coast Guard (10-9, 2-6) with 22 points and eight assists while Jeff Prebeck added 19 points and a team-high eight rebounds. Craig Johnson was also in double figures with 10 points for Coast Guard.
