After a first half that featured 12 lead changes, Buffalo State took the lead for good just 3:53 into the second stanza. The Bengals used a 9-0 run later in the half and led by as many as 14, before holding on for the eight-point win.
Jones’ 30 points came on 11-of-14 shooting from the field and he hit 6-of-7 from the free throw line. Dion Mozelle also scored a career-high with 17 points and had a game-high eight rebounds. Jay Wingate added 15 points, hitting 10-of-12 from the charity stripe, and had five assists.
Chris Donahue led Fredonia with 18 points. Devin Watkins added 16 points and seven rebounds, and Kyle Gordon scored 11.
Buffalo State will host Brockport next Tuesday at 8 p.m.
