SUNY BROCKPORT DEFEATS GENESEO LED BY ANDREWS' 20 POINTS
Golden Eagles defeat Blue Knights 79-69
BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- Senior David Andrews (Huntington Station/Walt Whitman) scored a season high 20 points to lead SUNY Brockport to a 79-69 men's basketball victory over SUNY Geneseo Tuesday night in SUNYAC action.
The Golden Eagles improved to 12-5 and 6-3 in the SUNYAC while the Knights fell to 6-12 and 4-6 in the conference. Brockport has now won seven of the last eight games.
Ben Bellucci (Syracus/CNS) added 16 points for Brockport, and pulled down 14 rebounds for his first career double-double. Kenny Amparo (Yonkers/Gorton) added 14 points for the hosts, who led 32-21 at halftime.
Geneseo was led by Joe Zera (Buffalo/Canisius) with 19 points. Greg Spears (Olean) added 16 points with a team-high seven boards. The Knights shot 42% for the night while the Golden Eagles shot 50%, including 52% in the second half. Brockport had a 44-30 rebounding advantage, including 22 on the offensive side while Geneseo had nine offensive boards.
SUNY Brockport is back in action Friday night against Fredonia at 8 p.m. Geneseo will face SUNYIT Saturday at 8 p.m.
