The Boxers, who had trailed by as much as 13 earlier in the second half, narrowed Menlo's lead to four on a Ross Bartlett free throw with 8:29 remaining. It was the closest the Boxers would get as Bryon Wesley's jumper at the 7:24 mark ignited the closing run.
Kyle Motta led all scorers for 16 points on 8-11 shooting and five rebounds. Bartlett finished with 12 points and five rebounds. Wesley led Menlo with 14 points and Damian Carter connected for 13.
The Boxers (6-4) were able to rebound from a lackluster 32 percent shooting performance in the first half to go 12 of 20 from the field in the second stanza and outshot Menlo (7-4) for the game 45 percent to 42 percent.
The homestanding Oaks built a solid lead early, going ahead eight on a pair of Zack Peck free throws at the 12:50 mark. Menlo led 22-11 when their shooting went cold for the final seven minutes of the half as they made only one field goal the rest of the half. The Boxers, however, could not cut much into the lead and went into the half trailing 24-16.
Menlo built its biggest lead of 13 on Aaron Gentry's three-pointer with 16:18 left. The double digit advantage held until Drew Gregerson's tip-in with 9:17 left cut the lead to eight.
The Boxers will now turn their attention back to the Northwest Conference schedule. Pacific plays at Linfield Friday and George Fox on Saturday.
