Marietta, OHIO — The Bridgewater College Eagles used a balanced scoring attack to defeat Grove City (PA) 71-67 in the consolation game of the Marietta(OHIO) Shriner's Club Invitational Tournament. Led by an outstanding game from Senior Captain, Clay Michael's 21 points and 7 rebounds the Eagles posted their fourth win of the season against five defeats. Junior Josh Maupin added 15 points, Sophomore Josh Fox added 12 and Sophomore Jay Strotman had 10, as the Eagles placed four men in double figures.
Freshman Michael Oblitey and Strotman each made key plays in the last minute of play to help in the victory. Oblitey had three blocks to go with his seven points and five assists.
Grove City (3-7) was led by Shawn Carr andMark Smith with 11 points each and John Scheller added 10.
Bridgewater hosts Randolph-Macon on Wednesday, January 4th.
