UW-L is off to its best start since 1982-83 when it began 14-2.
The game was tied 23-23 with 8:49 remaining in the first half before UW-L went on a 11-0 run to lead 34-23 with 4:42 left. Carleton cut the lead to 41-34 before the Eagles' Chris Fehrenbach hit a three-pointer with :25 remaining to give UW-L a 44-34 halftime lead.
The Knights could get no closer than 10 in the second half, including 48-38 with 17:33 remaining. The Eagles went on a 13-3 run to lead 61-41 with 9:56 left.
Chris Ask scored UW-L's first 10 points of the second half and finished with a season-high 16 points. He also finished with three assists. Ask was five-of-six from the field and six-of-seven at the free throw line.
Marcus Conigliaro and Chris Fehrenbach each added 13 points for the Eagles. Joe Bemis finished with nine points, five rebounds and three steals while Brandon Brown had eight points, four rebounds, four steals and two assists. Joe Werner had eight points and a game-high eight rebounds.
UW-L shot 52.6% from the field, including a season-high 56.3% (nine-of-16) from three-point range. The nine three-point field goals tied a season-high. The Eagles were 13-of-19 (68.4%) at the free throw line.
Dan Forkrud led Carleton with 18 pointss while Tommy Drake and Zach Johnson each had 15.
Carleton shot 40.7% from the field, including 22.2% (four-of-18) from three-point range. The Knights were 16-of-24 (66.7%) at the line.
