Baruch 75, Clarkson 60

Syracuse, NY — Baruch led from start to finish to defeat Clarkson, 75-60, in a first round game of the Le Moyne Holiday Tournament played Friday night in Syracuse, New York.

Five players reached double-digit scoring with Louie Karis (Brooklyn, NY/Xaverian), Cheick Fadika (Abidjan, Ivory Coast/Petit), and Anwar Baptiste (Bronx, NY/St Raymond's) leading the way with 13 points apiece.

The Bearcats (10-2) hit 11 three-pointers, including six during the second half to increase the lead to 18-points during one stretch.

Clarkson (2-6) committed only 10 turnovers, but struggled to contain a Baruch offense that shot 52 percent (30-58) the entire game, including 15-of-26 in the second half.

E.J. Harrison (Troy, NY/LaSalle Institute) scored a game-high 18 points to lead Clarkson, shooting 8-for-16 from the floor in 35 minutes. Brandon Rigg-Reives (Elmont, NY/Long Island Lutheran) added a season-high 12 points and five rebounds.

Baruch advances to the final tomorrow night at 7:30 p.m. to face tournament hosts Le Moyne College.

In the second game of the evening, Le Moyne routed Green Mountain by the score of 107-37.

Le Moyne is a Division II basketball program, and have played Syracuse twice and Georgia Tech once in pre-season exhibition games during the past two years.
