COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado — Freshman guard Nate Brodman (Scottsdale, AZ) scored 20 points and senior forward Adam Mares (Thornton, CO) added 18 points and game-high totals of 12 rebounds, five assists and seven blocked shots as host Colorado College defeated Rutgers University-Camden, 77-54, here Wednesday at the Colorado College Holiday Challenge.SCAC Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptors

Rutgers-Camden falls to 1-8 with its fifth straight loss, while Colorado College improves to 3-7, snapping a five-game losing streak.
The host Tigers took a 32-28 halftime lead and pulled away after the break with a 45-26 second-half run.
Colorado College shot 50.8 percent from the field (31-for-61) in the game, including 54.5 (18-for-33) in the second half. Rutgers-Camden shot only 33.3 percent (20-for-60) for the game and was 30.8 (8-for-26) in the second half. The Tigers also out-rebounded the Scarlet Raptors, 41-24.
Rutgers-Camden received 20 points from freshman guard Wayne Smalls (Camden, NJ/Medical Arts), while junior guard Dane Nicholson (Pleasantville, NJ/Holy Spirit) added 15.
The Raptors return to Colorado College Holiday Challenge action Thursday against Worcester (MA) State College. Colorado College and Worcester State play each other on Friday.
