SUNY-Oswego (4-3) had four players in double-figure scoring led by Lacey Kimpland (Fulton, NY/G. Ray Bodley) with 17 points and Samantha Driscoll (Lisle, NY/Whitney Point) with 16 points. Jessica Tremblay (Colonie, NY/Colonie) notched a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds.
Chiresse Paradise (Chicago, IL/Rich Central) led the Bearcats (6-3) with 20 points, nine rebounds, five steals, and four assists. Jessenia Marrero (Flushing, NY/Francis Lewis) had 12 points and Ally Stamatiades (Astoria, NY/W.C. Bryant) chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.
Oswego, which played in the NCAA Tournament last year, took a 43-37 halftime lead behind 46 percent shooting. They also knocked home three of their five 3-pointers in the first half.
Baruch forced 20 turnovers with a strong defense, but the Lakers responded with key baskets down the stretch to pick up the quality win.
Baruch will return to action tomorrow afternoon with another tough non-conference opponent Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Tip off at the ICI Center in Daytona Beach is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
