Elizabethtown 94, Cabrini 70

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. — Elizabethtown improved to 6-3 overall Monday night with a 94-70 home win over Cabrini College, which dropped to 5-4 with the loss. Etown held a 40-21 lead by halftime and held a 47-37 advantage in rebounds over the visiting Cavaliers. The Blue Jays also had 15 steals against eight for Cabrini, and Etown shot 30-for-36 (83.3%) from the free throw line, while Cabrini shot 13-for-19 (68.4%) from the charity stripe. Cabrini blocked 11 shots against three blocks for Etown.

Chad Piersol (Elverson, PA/Twin Valley) led Etown in scoring with 21 points, in rebounds with seven, and in assists with five. Brian Schreiber (Mechanicsburg, PA/East Pennsboro) added 19 points and five rebounds for the Blue Jays, and Brad Schreiber (Mechanicsburg, PA/East Pennsboro) scored 10 points and had five rebounds. Greg Brizek (Sinking Spring, PA/Conrad Weiser) added seven points, and Nick Kennedy (Wyomissing, PA/Wyomissing Area) scored seven points from off the bench for Etown.

Anthony Bennett (Philadelphia, PA/Monsignor Bonner) was Cabrini’s top scorer with 17 points. Jim McMahon (Havertown, PA/Haverford H.S.) added 16 points, and each led Cabrini in rebounds with seven. Randy Reid (Philadelphia, PA/Monsignor Bonner) added 13 points for the Cavaliers.

Elizabethtown will return to action on the road Wednesday, January 4 against the University of Scranton in a 7:00 p.m. game.
