Kawazoe led three Boxers in double figures on a night when Pacific surpassed its win total from the 2004-05 season. Pacific won only five games last season and only one game before the start of NWC play.
The Boxers (6-3), however, had to work through fatigue after their close seven-point loss to Southern Oregon the night before. Pacific held a narrow 35-32 lead at halftime and managed to hold off the Beacons despite shooting only 32 percent in the second half. For the game, the Beacons outshot the Boxers 43 percent (20-47) to 36 percent (23-63).
Mison Henley and Ryan Turcott each had 12 points as three Boxers finished in doubles. Kyle Motta pulled down 10 rebounds and Drew Gregerson came away with four blocks. Jesse Taylor led all scorers, putting away 24 for the Beacons.
Pacific now takes a much-deserved break for Christmas and will return to action with a Dec. 30 road game at Menlo.
