Mississippi College 80, Hardin-Simmons 63

CLINTON, MS — The Mississippi College Choctaws improved to 6-1 this season with an 80-63 win over visiting Hardin-Simmons University in A. E. Wood Coliseum Saturday.

MC built a 42-28 halftime lead and cruised to the easy win holding a double digit lead the entire second half.

Senior guard Cedric Armstrong scored 13 to lead the way as 12 different Choctaws scored. Jonathan Collins added nine points and three assists. Timothy Broomfield totalled eight points and a team high five rebounds.

HSU was led by Mardochee Jean who scored a game high 21 points and grabbed a game high 12 rebounds. Zach Pickelman added 18 points and five rebounds.

The Choctaws shot over 50 percent from the field and outrebounded the Cowboys 41-32. HSU knocked down 19-53 shots for a 35 percent shooting percentage.

The Choctaws' next game is at home this Monday night against McMurry University. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
