Shenandoah shot an amazing 9-12 from three-point range in the contest, including a 5-5 effort from Quan Griffin and 3-3 for Antwon Townsend. Griffin and Mouktar Fawehinmi led SU with 15 points apiece, while Jeremiah Lawrence scored 14, and Townsend added eleven.
Mary Washington, who last led with 15:56 left in the second half and trailed by as many as eleven points, were led by Jon Pierce's 15 points, followed by Justin Baker and A.J. Fitzgerald's 13 apiece. Baker added a game-high twelve rebounds. Mike Lee scored 14 for the Eagles. UMW trailed, 70-59, with 5:08 to play, and outscored the Hornets, 12-7, in the final five minutes, but were unable to come all the way back.
Mary Washington will take on Wartburg (IA) College on Tuesday in Las Vegas, NV at 8 pm MT.
