“Louisiana College shot the ball as good as what we did,” said McMurry head coach Ron Holmes. “But when you get three technical fouls, it hurts you. We lost our composure and some things happened that took us out of our game. We have the ability to be successful when we stay focused on what we can control.”
The Wildcats (3-6, 3-3 ASC) led almost the entire first half and took a 55-51 halftime lead into the locker room.
“Every game is a big game on the road in this league,” added Holmes. “We did not play as well as we could have.”
McMurry (6-2, 5-1 ASC) had six players in double figures, led by Rommel Colina’s 24 points and eight rebounds. Louisiana College was led by Casey Meador’s 30 points.
McMurry, who remains a half game ahead of Mary Hardin-Baylor in the ASC West Division, returns to action on Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Mississippi College in Clinton, Miss.
