Clarksville, Ark.- — Habeeb Kareem and Scott McCall combined for 38 points and went 15-of-16 from the field in the University of the Ozarks 76-73 win over Schreiner in American Southwest Conference play on Friday.

Kareem led Ozarks (4-3, 4-1) with 23 points and McCall added 15 points to help the Eagles remain among the top teams in the ASC East division. Ozarks is one of three teams in the ASC East division with only one loss. The Eagles held a 41-37 advantage at halftime behind a 16-of-29 (55%) shooting performance from the field. Ozarks continued to build their lead in the second half, taking a 51-41 advantage when McCall scored on a lay-up with 16:46 remaining. The Mountaineers (3-5, 2-3), however, took a 61-60 lead seven minutes later before the Eagles would rally back to tie the contest at 71-71 on a Kareem basket late in the contest. A pair of Jacob Sibley free throws put Ozarks ahead 73-71 with 2:06 left, but Schreiner would quickly answer with a jumper to tie the contest for the sixth time. Sibley scored again twenty seconds later to give Ozarks a 75-73 cushion and secure the win.
