Trailing 21-18 with 7:28 remaining in the first half, the Nor'easters scored eight consecutive points over the next three minutes to take the lead for good. Mike Floyd '07 (Windham, Maine) had five points during the run. UNE led 36-27 at the break.
The Nor'easters, who turned the ball over just 10 times, took their largest lead of the game (61-46) on a pair of free throws by McManus with 6:29 left to play.
Isaac Stickney '08 (Rumford, Maine) contributed 11 points, 12 rebounds and five blocked shots for the winners. Floyd came off the bench to tally a career-high nine points.
Otis Thompson '09 (Gardner, Mass.) was the lone Mount Ida player in double figures. He scored 10 points to go with seven boards and a pair of blocks.
The Nor'easters return to play January 7 when they travel to Bristol, R.I. to take on Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Roger Williams University. The Mustangs have a conference game versus Elms College on January 11.
