PINEVILLE, La. — Hardin-Simmons’ men’s basketball team took a 10-point halftime lead, but could not hold it down the stretch and fell to Louisiana College, 96-82, Thursday night in American Southwest Conference action in Pineville, La.

The game was tied at 76 with 5:50 to play, but the Wildcats took over the game at the free throw line. LC was 12-for-12 down the stretch in the final 5:50 and the Cowboys turned cold from the field.

Zach Pickelman led the Cowboys with 30 points and Mardochee Jean added 17, but no other Cowboy reached double digits. LC was led 29 points and 10 rebounds by Tim Vann.

The Cowboys (4-5, 3-3) will now face Mississippi College. Louisiana College improved to 2-6 overall and 2-3 in ASC play.
