Eau Claire, WIs. — Megan Vig scored 15 points, 12 in the first half, and added a career-high seven steals but Carleton College shot only 39 percent in falling at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, 59-50.

Hannah Oken-Berg added 12 points and six rebounds and Liz Baumgertner scored 10 points, all in the second half, in only nine minutes of play in her first significant varsity action of the season. The trio was 16-of-29 from the floor while the remainder of the Knights could muster only three field goals.

Vig shot only three times in the second half as Carleton (5-4) fell behind by as many 14 points in the second half.

Rachel Mueggenborg led the BluGolds (5-5) with 14 points and Heidi Arciszewski added 13 points as the hosts shot 59 percent from the floor, including 5-of-9 from three-point range.

The first half saw the BluGolds lead the whole way, as the visitors overcame 13 turnovers by shooting 63 percent (12-for-19). The Knights got off eight more shots than the hosts but struggled from the field, going 9-of-27 as the Knights had a number of shots rattle in and out along with missing a number of lay-ups.

Vig was red-hot in the first half, making five straight shots at one point in finishing the half with 12 points on 6-of-10 shooting to go with four steals. The rest of the team struggled, though, shooting a combined 3-for-17.

The Knights are now off until Dec. 31 when they travel to Division II Bemidji State University for a 1 p.m. contest. The game can be heard live on Knights Online or on KQCL 95.9 FM/Power 96.
