Rockford, Ill. — The Rockford College Regents’ women’s basketball team defeated the Milwaukee School of Engineering Raiders Tuesday for the second time this season with a final results of 81-46. The Regents took the lead from the start and never relinquished it, ending the half with a comfortable lead of 20 and finishing it with a lead of 35. The Raiders couldn’t seem to keep up with the Regents in firing power, shooting 27.1% from the field to the Regents’ 58.1%. Catherine Chappell (Lemont, IL) led the Raiders with 15 points and 7 rebounds followed by Cortney Femling (Green Bay, WI), who had 11 points and 4 rebounds.
The reigning Regents, now 8-1 for the season, were led by Angela Butler (Forreston, IL/Forreston) with 20 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals. Paula Jones (Port Byron, IL/United Township) had 11 points and 8 rebounds, and Love Morgan (Chicago, IL/Kenwood Academy) scored 12 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in the match. The Regents will travel to California this weekend to take on Occidental College and Whittier College on the 17th and 18th respectively.
