The Indians came out strong at the first of each half and took big leads. The Indians scored the first eight points of the game and never trailed. In the second half the Indians had 23-7 run out of the locker room to take a 26-point lead.
The Cowboys battled back and cut the deficit to 12 at 86-74, but McMurry pulled away at the end. The teams combined for 69 fouls in the game and 93 free throws.
Zach Pickelman led three players with 20-plus point for the Cowboys with 26. James Peters added 21 and Tanner Kudrna chipped in 20. Mardochee Jean broke his school and conference record for blocks in a game with 10.
Eight Indians reached double figures. McMurry hit nine 3-pointers in the second half and 15 for the game.
HSU fell to 4-4 and 3-2 in ASC play. McMurry improved to 6-1 and 5-0 in ASC play.
