UW-Stout 67, Bethany Lutheran 60

MANKATO, Minn. — The UW-Stout defense held Bethany Lutheran College to 29 percent shooting in the first half and then held on to defeat Bethany in their home gym, 67-60, Monday.

Stout (8-1) jumped out to a 35-21 halftime lead, but Bethany (3-6) pulled to within as much as three points, and used the 3-ball to get there. Bethany connected on seven shots from beyond the arc in the second stanza before the visitors pulled out to a somewhat tenuous lead to hold on.

Stout, which was outrebounded, 41-36, got 17 points from Terry Farmer, 15 points from Jake Nonemacher and 12 points from Adam Chandler. Bethany's Alfonso Mayfield led all scorers with 20 points and Dewan Grant tossed in 17.
