William Paterson 65, New Jersey 55

WAYNE, NJ — (Dec. 10, 2005) - Sophomore guard Jason Cameron (Cliffside Park, NJ/Cliffside Park) buried five 3-pointers and scored a career-high 16 points as William Paterson went 12-of-19 from long distance en route to a 65-55 victory over The College of New Jersey in New Jersey Athletic Conference men's basketball action Saturday at the William Paterson Rec Center.

Junior forward Samir Sanu (Edison, NJ/Sayreville) added 14 points and seven rebounds while shooting 4-of-6 from beyond the arc as the Pioneers (5-3, 3-2 NJAC) won their second straight. William Paterson shot a blistering 54.5 percent overall (24-of-44) and 63.2 percent on 3-point attempts while owning a 32-20 rebounding edge.

Senior forward Scott Findlay (Long Valley, NJ/West Morris) led all scorers with 20 points for the Lions (6-2, 3-2 NJAC) while also adding four steals and four rebounds. Senior forward Bobby Davidson (Princeton, NJ/Princeton) added 15 points for TCNJ.

William Paterson used a red-hot opening half to take a 43-23 halftime advantage. Cameron scored 13 points and Sanu added 12 as the Pionners shot 69.2 percent (9-of-13) from 3-point range and 64.0 percent (16-of-25) in the opening stanza.

Senior forward Nick Torres (Hazlet, NJ/Raritan) scored a season-high 10 points in the victory for the Pioneers, while junior forward Luis Martinez (Passaic, NJ/Clifton) added nine and grabbed eight boards in the victory.

William Paterson returns to action next Saturday, Dec. 17, when it travels to Kings Point, NY, to face the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at 2 p.m. TCNJ resumes play Sunday, Dec. 18, with a 2 p.m. home non-conference tilt against Muhlenberg.
