Washington College 97, Muhlenberg 86

CHESTERTOWN, Md. — Senior guard Travis Moore (scored a career-high 25 points and senior guard Dustin Abbate drained six three-pointers en route to 24 points as the host Washington College men's basketball team defeated visiting Muhlenberg, 97-86, this afternoon at Cain Athletic Center. The Shoremen improved to 4-4 overall and 3-1 in Centennial Conference play with the win, while the Mules slipped to 5-3 and 1-3.

The Shoremen started the game on an 11-1 run and led by at least five points the rest of the way. As a team, Washington shot 11-of-22 from beyond the three-point line, including 8-for-12 in the second half.

Abbate canned his six three-pointers on eight attempts, while Moore was three-for-five from beyond the arc and dished out four assists. Moore and Abbate each shot 9-for-13 overall from the field. Senior forward Jonathan Webbscored 19 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished out five assists in the victory, while senior guard Kyle Stem added 11 points and five assists. Senior guard Drew Hill matched his career high with nine points and dished out four assists.

Jeff Stewart led Muhlenberg with 22 points, 13 rebounds, and eight blocked shots. Tom Scott supplied the Mules with 16 points, while Justin Fields added 14 points on 6-for-7 shooting. Chris Huber tallied 11 points and Jimmy O'Brien finished with 10 points and nine boards for the Mules.

Muhlenberg shot 50% from the field in the game to Washington's 48% and held a 42-34 advantage in rebounds, but turned the ball over 26 times to the Shoremen's 18.
