Haverford 74, Franklin and Marshall 70

HAVERFORD, Pa. — Trailing by 28-18 at halftime and by 43-25 with 15:39 to go, host Haverford ran off 35 points to F&M's 16 to take a 60-59 lead, then survived a missed jumper at the regulation buzzer and a brief deficit in overtime to win Saturday's Centennial Conference game.
Freshman forward Ben McDowell scored 15 of his career-high 18 points after halftime and senior guard Johnny Elefterakis added 14 points, seven assists and five steals to lead the Fords (3-4, 2-2) to their second straight home win against the Diplomats (5-3, 2-2). Jason Polykoff and Ray Brown (seven rebounds) recorded 12 points each and David Nowacki (seven rebounds) and Mike Fratangelo added nine points apiece to round out the scoring for Haverford.
Franklin & Marshall, which committed an uncharacteristic 26 turnovers, was led by Logan Outerbridge's 17 points, five assists and four steals.
