FDU-Florham 69, New York City Tech 58

MADISON, NJ – — The College at Florham Devils beat the City Tech Yellow Jackets 69-58 to improve to 3-5 overall. City Tech drops to 3-5.

The Devils got out to a 19-3 lead seven minutes into the game and never relinquished the lead. The Yellow Jackets got within nine points of the FDU lead on a few occasions, with the latest being the 2:41 mark in the second half.

FDU was able to hold off City Tech in the final minutes, as the Yellow Jackets managed just one point in the final 2:41, going 0-for-3 from the floor and 1-for-2 from the foul line during that stretch.

Junior guard Cody Chalmers (Middletown, NJ) led the Devils with 16 points. He also handed out four assists. Senior guard Nate Lawrence (Burlington, NJ) added 14 markers, going 4-for-7 from beyond the three-point line. Junior guard Frank Emslie (Hazlet, NJ) added 13 points, making two of three three-pointers. He added four assists.

The Devils dominate the boards, out-rebounding the Yellow Jackets 49-35. Junior forward Pierre Schmitt (Park Ridge, NJ) pulled down a career-high 14 rebounds. Junior center Brian Rimol (Randolph, NJ) had 13 boards, seven of them off the offensive glass.

For City Tech, Jamaal Hall led the way with a game-high 17 points. Otis Saylee chipped 14 markers and grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds. Clyde Forteau chipped in 11 points.

The Devils will be back in action on Monday when they travel to play Hunter at 6:00 pm.
