Western New England 61, Skidmore 48

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — Sophomore guard Jen Dabrowski (Plainville, CT) scored a career high 26 points and senior center Lisa Masella (Newtown, CT) added 15 points and nine rebounds to lead Western New England College to a 61-48 victory over visiting Skidmore in the first meeting ever between the teams.

The Golden Bears, who led 35-26 at half-time, improve their record to 5-2.

Junior center Krystal Coke (Brooklyn, NY) had a double double for the Thoroughbreds with 22 points and a game high 15 rebounds. She was the only Skidmore player scoring in double figures.

Western New England College held a 51-37 lead following a basket by Dabrowski with 7:31 remaining before Skidmore went on an 8-0 run to pull within 51-45 after a basket by senior forward Katie Bronson (Potsdam, NY) at the 5:29 mark. The Thoroughbreds scored only three points the rest of the way.

This was the second straight game that Dabrowski has established a career high for points. She poured in 24 in a 65-40 win over Western Connecticut on Tuesday.
