Clark 83, Fitchburg State 50

Worcester, MA — Dominique Beck (Brockton, MA) drained all five of his first half field goal attempts in Clark’s convincing 83-50 non-conference win Thursday evening over visiting Fitchburg State. Tim Dutille (Sunapee, NH/Lebanon) paced all scorers with 15 points and in the process became the 23rd player in Clark history to reach the 1,000 point milestone.

Fitchburg State held an 18-15 advantage midway through the first half before the Cougars embarked on an impressive 26-0 run highlighted by an electrifying Beck dunk. Beck and Cory Szklarz (Worcester/St. Peter Marian) each ended the evening with 14 points while Pat Landers (Worcester/St. John’s) added 11. Beck and Dutille both registered double-doubles as Dutille hauled in 13 rebounds and Beck grabbed 10 boards.

Matt Collins (Southington, CT) paced Fitchburg State with 11 points.

Fitchburg State (4-3) will face St. Joseph’s (LI) on Saturday at 6pm in the opening game of the Hartwick Tournament in Oneonta, NY. Clark (4-2) will travel to Tufts on Saturday for a 2pm match up with the Jumbos.
