Oshkosh led 46-44 with 5:54 left before going on a 6-0 run over the next 2:20 to take a 52-44 lead with 3:34 left. The Green Knights were within 52-46 with 2:30 left, but a 3-pointer by Oshkosh's Jim Capelle proved to be the dagger. St. Norbert would get no closer than the final score the rest of the way.
St. Norbert shot just 31.7 percent from the field, making just 19 of 60 field-goal attempts. The Green Knights were able to stay in the game thanks to forcing 16 Oshkosh turnovers, and winning the rebounding battle against the much-taller Titans by a 35-32 count. St. Norbert also had 17 offensive rebounds to Oshkosh's seven.
Oshkosh took an 8-0 lead out of the gate before St. Norbert went on an 8-0 run of its own to tie it at 10-10. The rest of the first half was nip-and-tuck, with no team holding larger than a four-point lead. Andy Jahnke's 3-pointer with four seconds left in the first half put Oshkosh up 26-23 at intermission.
St. Norbert received a yeoman's effort from sophomore forward Eric Bieniasz. Bieniasz had 18 points and nine rebounds, and made all four of his 3-point attempts on a 7-for-13 night from the floor. Ryan Finneke added nine points for St. Norbert, making three trifectas.
Oshkosh, which shot 51.2 percent from the floor making 21 of 41 shots, was led by Jahnke's 17 points - with 14 coming in the first half. Capelle added 11 points and Kerry Gibson notched 10 points, nine rebounds and seven blocks.
