York never trailed in the contest, as Kenny Fass opened the scoring with a three-point basket to start a 7-0 run for the Spartans at the outset. Albright's first six points of the game came from junior center Lee Walter, who helped pull the Lions within three at 9-6. York extended its lead to 10, 18-8, six and a half minutes in, but the Lions outscored the Spartans 12-4 over the next six minutes to pull within two at 22-20. The score was 26-23 York with 4:21 left in the half when the Spartans, keyed by three's from Chad McGowan and Brandon Bushey, put together a 12-2 run to lead by 13, 38-25, with 1:39 left until halftime. Albright was able to get within 10 at the break when junior Greg Conroy drained a jumper just before intermission. York shot 58% from the field in the half, including 4-10 from long range, while the Lions were 0-9 from three-point land.
Albright was never able to mount a serious threat to the York lead in the second half. The Lions got to within eight on a Mike Boles free throw with 14:39 to play, but as they did every time Albright looked ready to climb back into the game, the Spartans were able to answer and push the lead back to double digits. A Bushey lay-up with 11:45 to play put York on top 54-44, and Albright would not get the lead back to single digits the rest of the evening. As they did in the first half, York was red hot from the field, shooting 59% from the floor, 4-9 from three-point land. By contrast, Albright continued to struggle from long distance, making just 2-8 three's in the second half and 2-17 for the game.
Trevor Deeter led Albright with 14 points on the night, followed by Taylor Steltz with 12 and Walter with 10. Deeter also had a game-high nine rebounds. Matt Kieselowsky handed out eight assists to go along with eight points. McGowan led all scorers in the game with 26 points on 10-15 shooting from the field, and also totaled four assists. Bushey had 15 points, Brian Singer added 11, and Fass chipped in with 10 for the Spartans.
