The Mountaineers (4-3) limited the Presidents (0-5) to 27 percent (15-of-56) shooting and forced 23 turnovers.
West Virginia scored the first eight points and continued to roll to a 27-10 lead after an Alex Ruoff three-pointer at the 10:32 mark.
The Presidents closed the advantage to 29-19 with 7:40 left in the half on a jumper by freshman forward Wahab Owolabi (Queens Village, N.Y./Randolph Macon Academy), but WVU quickly upped the lead to 20 points and took a 48-25 edge into halftime.
The Mountaineers limited the Presidents to four second-half field goals en route to the 50-point victory.
Mike Gansey added 12 points, five rebounds and four steals for WVU, while Johannes Herber was the only other Mountaineer in double figures with 10. West Virginia shot 48 percent (30-of-62) and drilled 13 three-pointers. WVU also held a 41-35 rebounding advantage.
Freshman center Josip Lucic-Jozak (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) led W&J with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard Jon Koch (New Kensington, Pa./Plum) added eight points and three boards for Washington & Jefferson, which only made 1-of-18 shots from three-point range.
The Presidents return to action on December 11th when they travel to Skidmore (N.Y.) for a 3:00 pm contest.
