ROCKFORD, Ill. — The women’s basketball game against the University of Dubuque started out a bit slowly as the two teams felt each other out. However, the Regents left little doubt as to whom was going to be on top at the end of the game after they took the lead by 12 with 11:17 left in the first half. They ran the lead up to 14 before the end of the first half with a score of Rockford 41, Dubuque 27. In the second half, the Regents kept running the lead up, maintaining a lead of at least 20 for the vast majority of the half. When all was said and done, the Regents sacked the Spartans 78-55.
Kristi Strunz (Orfordsville, WI/Orfordsville) and Kristina Dorman (Sterling, IL/Sterling) shared the title of lead scorer with 19 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals apiece. They teamed up for a combined 11 rebounds as well. Angie Butler had 14 points and 6 rebounds, going for 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.
