Luther took its first lead with 11:07 remaining in the first half, thanks to an Any Rump (Fort Madison, Iowa/Aquinas) three-pointer and never trailed the remainder of the game. The Norse led 37-25 at the intermission and outscored the Warriors 42-24 in the second stanza. Head Coach Jeff Olinger was able to empty his bench and watched 11 different players score.
Luther blistered the nets shooting 55 percent form the field. Andy Rump led all scorers with 19 points. He was followed by Jake Lappe (Fort Madison, Iowa/Aquinas) with 17 and Drew DeVine (St. Charles, Minn.) with 12. Lappe also grabbed a game high six rebounds helping the Norse win the battle of the boards 38-26.
Waldorf was led by Will Pendergrass who tallied 14 points. Davon White chipped in the 12 and was the final player to reach double digits. Waldorf shot just 39 percent from the field, including a 3-for-15 effort from behind the three-point line.
The Norse will attempt to level their record when they host Hamline University on Wednesday, Dec. 7. Tip-off will take place at 7:30 p.m.
