UNION, N.J. — The College of New Jersey’s Scott Findlay (Long Valley, N.J.) scored 13 of his 15 points in the second half as the Lions broke open a 27-27 halftime tie and defeated host Kean University, 72-60 this afternoon in NJAC men’s basketball action. With the win, TCNJ improved to 4-1 and 2-1 in the NJAC, while the Cougars fall to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the NJAC.NJAC New Jersey Lions

After the break, TCNJ’s Jason Stallworth (Toms River, N.J.) score the first bucket 16 seconds into the half and the Lions never looked back as they shot 65 percent from the floor in the stanza, knocking down four of seven three’s and converting 15-of-20 free throws en route to the win.
For TCNJ, Stallworth had a perfect game shooting 5-for-5 from both the field and the free throw line in collecting 16 points, while junior Matt Diamond (Ringwood, N.J.) scored a game-high 18 points, while converting 10-of-11 free throws.
For the Cougars, senior BJ Hamby (Bridgewater, N.J.) scored 14 points and grabbed five rebounds, while classmate Armet Coles, Jr. (Staten Island, N.Y.) added 12 points. Sophomore’s Lamar Wright (Galloway, N.J.) and Jonathan Oliver (Galloway, N.J.) provided a spark off the bench with 10 and eight points respectively.
Kean will next be in action Wednesday, December 7 when they host Rowan University at 8 p.m.
